HOT GIRLS ARE OUTFIT REPEATERS

It’s that time of the semester for many university students. Students have been getting back into the groove of a new semester until, suddenly, it’s midterm season. It sneaks up on students and everything becomes a mess.

In a rush to get to class after pulling an all-nighter, students sift through a mountain of clothes until items are deemed a clean, basic outfit worn just a few days before. But it’s fine, nobody is going to remember, right?

In the past, outfit repetition has been treated as a cardinal sin of fashion—cue that one scene from “Lizzie McGuire.” It meant you lacked the style to create more than a few outfits and you were messy because you wore a piece of clothing multiple times before washing it.

Every girl imagined herself on the front of a tabloid magazine—would the headline be “Super Cool Person Stuns in New Outfit” or “This Girl Has Lost All Sense of Fashion and the Public’s Respect?”

However, everything has changed about the way society perceives people and media from the late 1990s and early 2000s to the present. Now, outfit repetition is hardly a crime when some of our biggest problems are the rising cost of goods and the overfill of Shein hauls in landfills.

If you ever feel guilty for repeating an outfit, remember these few reasons repeating an outfit makes people the hottest version of themselves.

Fast Fashion Has Ruined the Quality of Our Clothing.

In a world where most clothing is made out of thin rolls of polyester and nylon, you are lucky if a new shirt lasts more than a few wears before you find a tear at the seams.

If you repeat an outfit time and time again, it means you have high quality pieces. You’ve spent the time sourcing articles of clothing made of strong, natural fabrics that were expertly sewn together to last you a lifetime.

Being able to repair your own clothing also adds to your “coolness” factor. If you have the skills to remove an impossible stain or patch a hole in your jeans, everyone will want a share in your knowledge.

You Are Confident in Your Sense of Style

Repeating your outfits means you are not afraid to be who you are. Most insecurity of outfit repetition comes from the need to be different every single day. The masses need something new to entertain them in their mundane lives.

Having a signature look shows the time and effort you have put into studying current and past trends. You have searched across the world of fashion to discover what the exact right looks are for you.

Outfit Repetition is an Act of Rebellion

Though it may sound dramatic, repeating your outfits is a massive statement to so many systems of oppression and compliance. Being an outfit repeater does not mean you are tasteless, rather, it makes you quite the opposite.

It makes you someone who has put in the hours to learn how to style yourself and how to repair your clothing. This confidence and tangible skill makes you strong and independent. It makes you the original, authentic you. Being you will always be in style.
